My name is Charissa Keebaugh; I was born and raised here in the Pacific Northwest. I am 20 years old and I have a deep passion to explore the world, in 2017 I decided to do it through this thing called Snail Mail. Heres my story...

 

My snail mail journey started with a middle school passion project called Letters of Love; while struggling with my own mental health I wanted to help others through their own journey. Anyone could reach out to the designated Instagram page through a DM and I would hand write and design a letter to those who asked. With these letters I would include positive quotes, goodies such as tea, stickers etc. and a hand written letter and they were encouraged to write back. This project lasted about 2 years as it wasn't getting noticed much anymore, it was left open until I finally dropped it. During the Letters of Love project I was in a beginners French class for school, I had taken on a French Pen Pal via E-mail named Cassidy. With these two extra curricular activities I came across a community on Instagram for Pen Pals and Postcard swapping which blossomed into the hobby it is now.​

In late 2017 I started hand writing to Pen Pals, simultaneously I was collecting postcards from my trips (an easy thing for a 13 year old to buy right?) eventually I began trading my postcards for ones around the world! In late 2018 I joined a website called Postcrossing, initially I didn't use this site much, and just stuck to instagram, but I plan to use it alongside instagram for the foreseeable future!

My purpose of this blog is to share the joy of snail mail. Here ill share all things snail mail like tips, crafty ideas, events for all to join and so much more!
